Margot Quan Knight was born in Seattle, USA in 1977. She studied photography at Dartmouth College, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1999 with a Bachelor of Art degree in Studio Art. From 2000- 2002 she was a sponsored photographer at FABRICA, the communication arts research center of the Benetton Group, located in Italy. In 2009 she received her Masters in Fine Art from the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts at Bard College, NY.
Margot’s photographic and video work has been exhibited around the world, including recent solo shows at 911 Media Arts Center in Seattle, USA, GAS Art Gallery in Turin, Italy, and the University of Idaho Prichard Art Gallery. Her work has appeared in numerous group shows, at institutions such as the Gallery of Photography, Dublin, the Bellevue Arts Museum, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Over 80 international publications have featured Margot’s work, including Arte al Limite (Spain), Monthly Photography (Korea), and Espoarte (Italy).
Awards for her work include selection among the “Best Works” in the Epson Art Photo Award 2009, Aperture Foundation’s Winter Portfolio Pick in 2006, and first prize, “Il Premio Aletti,” at the Modern and Contemporary Art Fair of Verona in 2005.
